I haven't posted anything on OTTP in quite some time now, so this is an attempt at getting the site back to what it used to be: a place where people could talk about intense topics that they wouldn't usually bring up in normal conversation; a place where people who barely knew each other became, in a way, a tight-knit group of friends because we all helped each other through things we didn't feel like we could talk about with our friends in person; a place where we all felt close to and in touch with one of our favorite bands, to the point where we could bear our souls and know that they (and the other members of the site) would take us in without judgment and give us tough love, a kick in the ass, encouragement, or whatever we needed.
How about a little appreciation for the good things in life? Instead of being depressed because you hate your job, be grateful that you have a job in a struggling economy. Rather than being angry because your parents/significant other/friends are behaving in a way that is not to your liking, be glad that you have those people in your life. Realize that in spite of your struggling relationship, job, finances, or whatever that you are still young, intelligent, creative, compassionate, or just ALIVE! People tend to spend too much time worrying about the next day rather than looking forward to jumping over another hurdle that will make you appreciate what you have and who you are even more. Of course I mean all of this not to devalue any of the hardships that anyone (including myself) has posted on OTTP.com, but to inspire you to keep fighting through all the crap and make it to the other side as a happier, stronger person.
At the risk of sounding a little Thanksgivingy, I'd love to hear what the amazing members of OTTP.com are proud of, grateful for, or just think to be awesome. I'll start: I have from the beginning and always will appreciate the creation of this site, and everyone on it for encouraging me and thousands of others to open up, share things that we have been holding back and have been holding us back, and learn a little about ourselves, each other, and even the members of Trapt. I'd really love to hear from the "OOTTPG's" on this one!
